taking stock

Just looking at the master schedule for grad school. I have this summer "off", next fall "on", next spring "off", and next summer "on". Then it is a year of field-based research, and then I receive my degree! And then--who knows what is next?? I will give my time to my school, as my school paid for my degree. Maybe I will go on for a Ph.d, which will require a move. Maybe I will teach in an international school, which will require a move. Maybe I will stay right where I am, which will require no moving at all. I love where I live now. I like my community. I love my school.

It's a holding pattern for at least a few more years. And that is okay with me.
